WOMEN OF TANNER MINISTRY
Become a part of a nurturing and empowering community of Women!
If you are looking for a place to grow spiritually, feel valued, and actively use your gifts in service to Christ, the Women of Tanner Ministry invites you to join and become part of this women's ministry.
Tanner's WOMEN OF TANNER MINISTRY, expertly led by Lic. Nancy Hamilton, provides a welcoming and supportive environment where women of all ages, along with visitors and friends, can come together. This ministry focuses on addressing the holistic needs of women, enhancing their spiritual relationship with Christ, developing a sense of self-value rooted in their faith, and encouraging the use of personal gifts for Christ's service.
Understanding that God communicates with women uniquely, as per their creation, the Women of Tanner Ministry fosters a community where encouragement and mutual support are paramount. Regular gatherings include diverse activities and programs, held on the third Saturday of each month, designed to nourish and empower women in their faith journey.
Highlighting the ministry's calendar is the annual Women's Day Weekend, a vibrant celebration specifically curated for women. This event-packed weekend includes a kickoff event, a slumber party, various workshops, and culminates in a special worship service featuring a guest preacher or speaker and performances by the Women's Day Choir.
This ministry is ideal for women seeking a group that resonates with their specific needs and concerns.
The SARAH E. TANNER WOMEN'S MISSIONARY SOCIETY (WMS), led by the dedicated Stephanie Gordon Long, our Local WMS President, is deeply committed to spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. We focus on reaching out to the often overlooked and providing tangible support to the most vulnerable members of our community.
Central to our mission is the development and utilization of training programs that equip and inspire our members. We are actively engaged in advocacy for justice and peace, human rights, and supporting the oppressed, voiceless, women, children, and the elderly. Our outreach activities are diverse and impactful, ranging from distributing food and clothing to the needy, to participating in the Angel Tree Prison Ministry during Christmas for gift-giving, and fostering educational success through partnerships with local elementary schools.
In addition to these initiatives, we work in close collaboration with Tanner's Food Pantry Ministry to combat food insecurities and provide daily necessities to the unhoused. Our efforts are further extended through various other community service projects that aim to uplift and transform lives.
Each year, we celebrate our achievements and the impact of our work during the Women's Missionary Society Sunday. This special event highlights our accomplishments and renews our commitment to our cause and community. Additionally, we host an annual Spring Tea, featuring a delightful program of song, liturgical dance, skits, good food and of course, tea!
